Leave Chiang Mai and drive northward across mountainous landscape to Chiang Rai. Visit Yao and Akha Hilltribes. Lunch is provided enroute. Drive to the Golden Triangle area where the borders of Thailand, Burma and Laos meet. Then on to Chiang Saen, visit some magnificent ancient temples. Return to Chiang Mai by the same route.

Visit Doi Intanont National Park, the highest peak in Thailand, where the twin Chedis were built in honor of Their Majesties the King and Queen of Thailand. This National Park is welknown for its picturesque scenery and is considered to be one of the best places for bird watching in Thailand. A special visit is made to the Royal Project Center with re-forestation and agricultural development program for hilltribe communities.
