Visit by horse-drawn carriages, ancient ancestral and archaeological sites that were re-discovered in 1974. The ancient city of Wiang Kum Kam was the first capital of Lanna Kingdom founded by King Meng Rai, its first ruler, before establishing Chiang Mai as the permanent capital city in 1839 BE (1296 AD). Following a massive flood, the city of Wiang Kum Kam vanished without a trace. For over 200 years, Wiang Kum Kam became a lost city buried under layers of earth at depths of 1 to 4 metres.

Proceed to Lampang which is 90-km south of Chiang Mai to visit The Elephant Conservation Centre to watch how elephants were used for logging. Continue to visit this beautiful city by horse-drawn carriages and stopping at the most important temple in Lampang “ Wat Phrathat Lampang Luang“, a Lanna paradigm of temple building. The temple itself is prominently sited on a hillock surrounded by walls. The entrance arches called Pratu Khong is adorned with fine plaster designs.
